January 11, 2016- Thank
You! Verizon Wireless and Philadelphia Eagles for Packs for Pride for children affected by Domestic Violence.
Thank you for providing Packs for Pride for
children affected by domestic violence. Pride does matter to those who are exposed to domestic violence. The back packs filled
with essential items and toys are given to children who are seeking safety at the doorstep of a safe house or an emergency
overnight safe spot, in the lobby outside a court room or outside
a police interview room when a parent (mother or father) is seeking an order of protection, oftentimes including the children
in the protection order, and to children whose parents are attending survivor support groups while they patiently wait for
Mom or Dad in another room. These back packs are also given to children during supervised visitation exchanges as they
are often feel invisible when they are shuttled between households. When children experience abuse in the home, it is
experienced in isolation, these back packs bring them out of isolation and show them they do matter, they are visible and
Verizon employees, you make it Better.
